    1. The detail is great. I think if you look at the pic long enuf multiple stories will explode. See interpreting is like painting kind of.. if you think too much about it, (in this case trying to interpret the piece), you’ll get shitty results, if any. So just look at it and see what comes out.

    2. I am of a simple mind. In movies, books, art, I just take what is given me on the surface. I don’t usually get a deeper meaning or message until I read a review and then I understand. Or not. This piece is a mystery to me as, around the corner, is a connecting man with an umbrella and cell phone. And in the background is a rifle.

      1. That’s what I mean.. you’re not of simple mind. You have to follow a John Lennon quote maybe, he said, “the more I see the less I know for sure” that will bring out the dynamic artist in you whether you like it or not

  1. While I really enjoyed all of them I was most drawn to ‘freemont street’.. it reminds me of the stanza in the song by Simon and Garfunfel, Sound of Silence, that says ‘and the words of the prophets are written in the subway halls and tenement walls……”
There is always sun there but yet the painting of the girl on the wall holds an umbrella. She lays on roses which represents a comfort in what was but she is rising out, letting them become full again because it is their time for light. There are animals in the foreground leaving her comfort zone and letting her go now.
That interp. of the pic might sound totally off to you but that’s what I thought as soon as I saw it, tell me what you think or if I’m imagining things.

    1. Any interpretation of art is personal and I love yours. You are not imagining anything. Your interpretation is as valid as mine, even if I said “it looks to me like the end of the world”! πŸ™‚ Thank you for a very insightful comment.

    1. I do favor the color this week, though when I saw it in black and white I couldn’t believe how good it looked.
